One of our Fortune 100 financial clients is looking for on Business Analyst
to work out of their Irving
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst is to participate
in the full development lifecycle from concept through testing for multiple
Banking and Credit Card internet projects.
Specifically, works with business representatives to review, analyze and
evaluate user requirements and define scope and objectives for new
functionality, enhancement, or remediation of internet site content to
implement approved business strategies; enlists other members of the
development team when appropriate to resolve and clarify requirements
Develops and maintains Business Requirements (BR), Functional Requirements
(FR) and Functional Specification (FS) documents compliant with approved
standards for completeness and appropriate level of details.
Monitors site content design and development activities to ensure
compliance with the intent of the business requirements. Responsible for
allocating requirements to system components and establish a traceability
Acts as the liaison between business users, internet site content
developers, and other technology groups.
Works with Testing team to insure all technical and functional requirements
are thoroughly tested. Relies on experience, judgment, and management
guidance to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and
initiative is expected.
Adheres to all Client standards, methods, processes and procedures.
Develop (and comply with) processes to meet Global Operating Model and
CITMS goals in the requirements management space and deliver a consistent
set of artifacts & processes.
Leverage industry standard advanced techniques such as Use Cases & UI
diagrams to meet GOM and CITMS goals.
Being the primary point of contact for the Internet team regarding
requirements related items.
Proactively communicates and collaborates with business representatives to
analyze information needs and deliver the BR, FR and FS.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the
technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance
Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to
define problems and develop innovative solutions.
Persuades and influences others through strong and comprehensive
communication and diplomacy skills.
Helps to develop project proposals and business requirements with sponsor
and project team, based on need.
Supports development and execution of project tasks.
Identifies internal business partners, design teams, testing teams,
development teams, project managers, and architecture teams and engage them
throughout the entire design lifecycle.
Analyzes Project Change Requests (PCRs) for Internet impacts, then updates
BR, FR and FS documents and traceability as needed.
Review technical design documents.
Review and obtain approval of test plans and test scripts.
Assesses cross-project/release impacts and takes steps to resolve as
Reviews business test accounts/data and instructions to ensure all
requirements are cared for.
Resolves project issues standing in the way of progress and escalates as
Cultivates vendor relationship to optimize offshore leverage and obtain
streamlined delivery from contract resources.
Leads requirement gathering efforts for multiple large development projects.
Acts as advisor or coach to new or junior analysts; allocates work.
Balances multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team
to develop solutions
Creates, maintains and distributes status reports.
Participates in process and quality improvement activities.
Creates and promotes a teamwork environment.
Must have the "doing it right the first time" mentality and approach daily
activities with a positive attitude.
Business and Functional Requirements:
Being a liaison for the Project Sponsor and Information Technology,
remaining on the project until release.
Responsible for documenting Internet business requirements and functional
requirements, and the overall delivery of projects with Internet impacts.
Ensures Internet related items which must be delivered are captured in the
BR and FR documents.
Gathers and documents business rules and, if appropriate creates use cases.
Manages Internet-impacting issues related to requirements, such as those
lacking sufficient definition, appear infeasible, jeopardize the schedule,
modify the creative assets, etc.
Conducts traceability reviews.
Facilitates/participates in requirements baseline meetings and obtain
approval for the BR and FR.
Manages the definition of system/functional specifications for Internet
related projects, this includes effectively translating business
requirements (BR) into functional specification and use cases.
Maintains the functional specification library; conducts reviews or
walkthroughs to ensure that the FS reflects the way the system functions
Serves as a functional and system subject matter expert throughout the
validation, implementation, and post-implementation phases of projects.
Serving as an internal consultant in defining cross-functional
Resolving cross-functional issues.
Facilitates/participates in baseline meetings and obtain approval for
Ten plus years experience in delivering requirements for complex internet
applications. Having experience with internet banking or credit cards
online applications, financial system internet sites or mobile application
development is considered a plus.
Five plus years experience delivering requirements using IBM/Rational or
Blueprint toolset, utilizing JAD sessions, prototyping, use cases in Agile,
iterative and waterfall SDLC process.
Ten plus years experience leading project teams (5+ members) comprising
contractors and also employees. Some project management experience
required.BS in Business, Marketing, or Information Systems Management from
an accredited university or college or equivalent work related experience.
MBA is preferable.
Solid understanding of defining and documenting requirements and business
Ability to translate between technical and non-technical people.
Practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate with management and employees
across business units. Service oriented attitude.
Ability to lead and work with teams across multiple locations and time zones
Strong relationship management skills to build enduring and productive
alliances across Client.
Thought leader in internet apps space, current with new internet trends,
tools and technologies.
Professional maturity in dealing with all levels of management and staff.
Ability to understand customer needs and manage expectations and ability to
adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Aptitude to team and work independently with minimal direction in a
fast-paced, changing environment.
Proficient using collaboration tools and MS office products, such as Word,
Outlook, Excel and SharePoint. Experience using BluePrint is a plus.
Willingness to travel (approx 10%).
