Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Area Sales Manager of a global, non-asset based supply
chain management company providing air and ocean freight forwarding,
contract logistics, customs brokerage and supply chain consulting services
for customers operating in industries such as pharmaceutical, retail,
consumer goods, chemical, automotive and industrial.
The Business Development Manager will oversee acquisition of new accounts
and expansion of business within current accounts ensuring account
profitability and high client service levels. Coordinates complete sales
cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect
qualification, analysis, RFQs, pricing, proposal preparation and
presentations, contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up
after the sale. Challenge is to increase revenues and improve
profitability.
Background Required:
* International Freight Forwarder sales (3 years)
* Proven track record of success
* Market focus (i.e. manufacturing, pharma, automotive, retail)
* Multimodal (i.e. Air, Ocean, Import/Export, FTL, LTL, rail)
* Well versed in supply chain management
* Contract Negotiations
* Travel up to 30%
* Computer literate: (Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, &
Outlook)
* Education: Bachelor's degree
* Residence: Greater DFW area
Background Preferred (but not required):
* Freight Forwarding operations
* Global account management
* Sales Management
Other Essential Abilities and Skills:
* Hunter mentality
* Executive level presentation skills (i.e. C level, VP, Directors)
* Customer service focused
* Demonstrated leadership skills
