Description:

The Senior Sales Engineer plays a critical role in building and driving
solution based business development opportunities for our largest global
insurance and OEM customers. The Sales Engineer works closely with global
account managers, regional, and country senior management teams (SMTs) to
build, support and commercialize our business intelligence (BI) and Big
Data product offerings to existing and prospective customers. The Sales
Engineer translates the business needs into consumable visualization and
applications, offering customers and Account Managers deep insight to make
informed business decisions.

Drive direct sales efforts related to Business Intelligence tools
Translate business opportunities into viable commercial opportunities.
Conducts face-to-face client/customer meetings as necessary to support
presales activities (e.g., discovery, requirements analysis,
presentation/demonstration)
Delivers Introduction to BI to prospects and customers
Focuses on ambiguous complex sales opportunities that need creative and
complex solutions
Discover and Communicate solutions to address specific customer needs
Leverage Business Intelligence tools to enrich and enhance product offerings
Implements entire suite of MicroStrategy software for data engagements and
POC scenarios by leveraging Web, Office Mobile products
Deep expertise in the breadth/depth of our product/service offerings
globally and at local level to leverage MicroStrategy to further penetrate,
expand and commercialize BI and product/services resource and mentor for
in-country developers, IT, and SMTs leveraging BI solutions
Develops proof of concept (POC) and production ready dashboards for
customers and country SMTs by effectively translating business requirements
into dynamic, user intuitive technology solutions
Support the growth of company business by providing presales technical
support
Provides presales technical / functional support to prospective customers
and maintains regular communication with customers to ensure on-going
satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities
Advises internal and external customers to envision opportunities on
overall architecture for solution optimization
Research and evaluate evolving and future technologies and report on impact
on current and future solution opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a solutions oriented leader focused on translating
business opportunities by into viable commercial solutions. A sole
contributor equally skilled at providing overall strategic vision and
detailed analytical support as well as strong interpersonal skills to
influence key stakeholders, build consensus, and successfully closing
significant deals.
BS degree or equivalent and 8+ years of related work experience (e.g.,
presales, sales, marketing, consulting, and/or training) or an advanced
degree with 6+ years of related work experience
MicroStrategy Certified Developer or demonstrated project lead experience
across architecture, project, web, mobile, office and SDK modules
Experience with Business Intelligence, RDBMS, multi-tenant applications and
SaaS offerings required
Demonstrable understanding of Big Data architecture (e.g., MPP RDBMS, HDFS,
Yarn) and SQL
Proficiency in technologies which are complementary to MicroStrategy
software a plus, particularly: .NET or JSP, Java, UNIX or Linux, Windows,
Security, XML/XSL, DHTML, iOS
Demonstrable understanding of system and application design
Exceptional verbal, written and technical capabilities with ability to
translate technical functionality into business benefits, articulate and
simplify complex topics to novice, non-technical audiences, evaluate
positioning, business justification and close on business opportunities
