Purchasing and Logistics Manager

Department: Purchasing
Reporting to: VP Operations

creative solutions in a timely and cost effective manner.

Purpose of the Job

The Purchasing Manager reports to the VP Operations and leads a small team.

As a Purchasing Manager you identify, select and contract vendors both
local and international against the best possible legal and commercial
conditions, optimal leverage of volumes fully covering the needs of the
internal customers, leading to purchases, satisfied internal customers and
immediate savings.

You will perform your main activities independently and you'll have a high
impact on vendor selection, planning, forecasting, inventory, pricing and
terms of contracts. You are responsible for the portfolio of purchasing
commodities and specialty components including materials, equipment and
services.

You will design, develop, implement and maintain the company's procurement
and logistics procedures, rules and guidelines.

Accountabilities

The Purchasing Manager will have the following accountabilities and
responsibilities:

Process improvement
* Contribute in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of
procurement, purchasing, logistics and distribution directives, rules and
guidelines, in order to achieve the most cost-effective processes for the
organization, leading to operational excellences.

Relation management
* Develop, maintain and manage a relationship with vendors and internal
customers on all organizational levels that will deliver mutual benefits
for the company and delivery/production schedules.

Supplier and Partner selection

* Select and approve (international) suppliers or partners for the
organization, based upon a thorough selection process, in order to ensure
that the supplier/partner selection is in accordance with the company
strategy.
Contract negotiation and management
* Commercial end-to-end responsibility for negotiating and agreeing the
best possible pricing and terms with the vendors confirmed by contracts
within the companies directives, rules and guidelines; authorized to make
commitments and sign purchase orders on behalf, within company guidelines,
of the company in order to achieve the lowest possible total cost of
ownership (TCO).

Qualifications needed
You are fluent in English
You have a B.S. Degree in business or related field contributing to this job
You are a hands-on leader with a good sense of responsibility
You are a team player working well with co-managers to achieve the company
objectives
You are highly organized and a confirmed negotiator
You are able to organize and lead a purchasing/Logistics department
You have at least 5 years of experience in managing procurement and
logistics in a business environment
