This position will plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and network and phone systems infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT assets. This includes developing, configuring and maintaining operational support of all new and existing network and phone hardware, software and LAN/WAN links. This position will lead a team of internal staff and third party support partners.
Responsible for architecture of Cisco UCX, Cisco LAN-WAN infrastructure for all voice, and video over IP services
Responsible for implementation, support and monitoring of PBX infrastructure, Network infrastructure, and ACD / IVR applications.
Negotiate and manage telecom and data contracts and invoices.
Manage Telecom / Network budgets
Responsible for 24/7 up-time of Telecom and Network Infrastructure.
Provide technical support to executives, internal users and customers for wireless, telecom, network, and VPN access.
Interact with Business and IT peers to restore service and/or identify problems
ocuments and/or supervises the documentation of related processes and procedures.
Provides training, mentoring, coaching, and leadership for telecom and network engineers.
Creates and maintains service level agreements
Maintains and sets strategic direction for data and telecom networks, including hardware, operating systems and patching
Evaluates and documents issue resolution and analyzes trends for ways to prevent future occurrences.
Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future needs
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance and inventory, life cycle management and related documentation.
Provides “ownership” of problem thru final resolution.
Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network.
Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards
Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for IT projects and associated efforts.
Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
Assess, approve, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on.
Manage, in concert with the security team, and ensure effectiveness of security solutions including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users
Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.
Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians and conduct performance reviews and corrective action.
Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Strong knowledge of Network / Telecom hardware technologies and routing protocols including but not limited to Cisco switching /routing / firewall / wireless networking technologies
Strong understanding / experience with call center ACD / IVR environments.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on.
Experience installing network cabling and telephony systems.
