Accounting Support Specialist

Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, and following
prescribed department, office and firm procedures, the Accounting Support
Specialist is responsible for providing administrative and accounts payable
support for the department, including monitoring telephone requests,
handling petty cash requests, reviewing and logging check requests,
distributing expense check runs, handling the department mail, processing
various local vendor invoices, and maintaining the billing files. The
Accounting Support Specialist is expected to perform all responsibilities
with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm's clients,
attorneys, advisors and staff, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork
and continuous improvement. Above all, the Accounting Support Specialist
must fulfill the needs of the firm in a manner which is consistent with the
Firm's Core Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Duties are performed throughout
every work day, as necessary):
Monitor Accounts Payable telephone requests.
Respond to general accounting emails for copies of client bills, Quicklook
inquiries and some routine reports.
Maintain client matter information in CMS to include daily new business set
ups and updates, reopening and closing matters, address changes.
Daily processing of petty cash requests.
Review and log client and non-billable check requests as well as expense
Process rush check requests.
Handle incoming Convergys pouch and send outgoing pouch.
Distribute DA Accounting mail and research past due statements from vendors.
Process local vendor invoices for ground transportation as well as firmwide
vendors (e.g., Fed-X, UPS, etc.).
Other Duties (Duties are performed periodically, as necessary):
Distribute weekly expense check run.
Monitor and release bi-weekly vendor invoices which total over $10,000 upon

Other special projects and tasks as needed.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Ability to read, write and speak English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions

Educational Qualifications/Job Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two or four year college degree preferred
Prior accounting department experience preferred
