Construction Business Development Mgr

has produced a need to hire a Construction Business Development Manager.
The Construction Business Development Manager will report directly to the
Vice President, Sales.
The Construction Business Development Manager's primary effort is to
define, generate, qualify and prospect new business targets in a defined
territory location, closing new sales and creating future prospects for
service and recurring sales of all MCS Fire & Security product offerings.
Proven ability at excelling at managing one's own sales pipeline is
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
Executes strategies to optimize the penetration of new product
introductions and special promotions to the construction market.
Prospects to executive levels unfamiliar with our organization, utilizing
sales skills to probe, build and cross-sell directly on site to key
Generates viable sales leads and prospects through market and account
research, sales events, networking, vendor events and computer programs.
Contacts assigned and prospective accounts to secure new business.
Teams with individuals within sales and key corporate personnel to
communicate account plans, pricing, and offer assistance to drive sales.
Provides market and competitor information to appropriate channel within
the company. Accountable for attaining assigned sales quota, part margin
and controllable expense objectives.
Maintains and submits all required sales administration reports. Regularly
attends company meetings.
Conducts Products presentations to potential clients and existing clients
Drives toward high achievement
Maintains and refines database or list of prospective customers for use as
sales leads, based on information from newspapers, periodicals, business
directories and other sources
Generating leads and submitting bids/proposals
Ability to develop engaged customer relationships and effectively implement
Represents the Company, either in person or by telephone, to call on
regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
Displays or demonstrates products and services in a professional manner,
using samples or materials, and emphasizes salable features.
Coordinates turnover to Operations team for installation of new customer
Proposes pricing and credit terms and prepares sales contract for orders
Prepares reports of business transactions, while accurately tracking results
Provides ideas, recommendations and support regarding new business
Stays up to date on sales skills, professional knowledge and self-training
to maximize professional growth and advancement.
Stays current on company capabilities, products, services and/or changes
regarding sales and customer needs.
Identifies new client referrals and or/new business prospects
Liaison to Sales Management, Marketing and other internal delivery partners
to provide input and feedback regarding product, programs and policies.
All other related duties as assigned or required by Vice President, Sales
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
5-7 years of experience in B2B Construction sales
Previous general contracting or electrical contracting experience required
Previous territory management required
Experience using Salesforce preferred
Ability to use electronic presentations and spreadsheets proficiently to
communicate with internal and external delivery partners and stakeholders.
Industry experience is not required
Knowledge of building, construction, electrical, architecture, and/or
OTHER SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must pass pre-employment assessment, if applicable
Must possess own transportation and be able to travel to customer &
potential customer worksites.
Licenses and Registrations: Must possess a current, valid State issued
Driver's License, and a satisfactory driving record must be maintained at
all times. (must not be under suspension; and not to exceed more than 3
moving violations within prior 3 years). Ability to be licensed in
accordance with state regulations, under the Texas State Fire Marshal,
and/or, Texas Private Security Bureau, as required.
Supervisory Responsibility: none
Up to 50% required overnight travel
Proven closing skills, excel at finding new opportunities, possess the
ability to sell value and not price, work well independently and be held
accountable to your goals.
Must be goal and results-oriented, ability to meet aggressive deadlines,
ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical
instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract
and concrete variables.
Must possess strong customer-centric, relationship and retention ability.
