Director of Strategic Dealer Development

Major Contract Furniture Manager

Territory is National

Location is anywhere close to a major airport with a preference for a
Central Location

This position's primary is to work with each Company Owned Dealers to
develop their 3 year strategic plan to drive sustainable profitable growth
and achieve independence. In this role the director will work closely with
the GM and the team to assess their current capabilities and identify and
develop plans to implement capability gaps to achieve the dealerships
objectives. In addition the director will evaluate the competitive
landscape of each market we do business in and develop a plan to better
achieve organic growth or identify opportunities to acquire additional
business entities to drive accelerated growth.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in some or all of the
following: strategic planning, distribution management, P&L experience,
strength in finance, selling & buying model and change management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a strategic planning process for use with each
dealership and execute this process so that each dealership has a strategic
plan that defines their roadmap toward independence
Complete and maintain an assessment of each dealership
within the network containing the dealership current capabilities, future
needs, market opportunities and competitive landscape
Conduct in-depth market assessment of the current
distribution including Company, competitive aligned dealers and key open
line dealership to identify opportunities to strengthen the Company Owned
Implement a process for assessing independent
readiness level by dealership and develop an overall rollout plan for the
entire network
Collaborate with the Company Dealer Team to develop
and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems,
processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of
the company.
Assess and engage external consultants when needed to
accelerate development of each dealership to achieve independence
Develop and implement a dealer development scorecard
to measure progress in driving the required change in each dealership
Work with each GM to identify local support needed
once they are independent and support discussions with these key
Lead the execution of a individualized independence
plan for the dealership and coordinate the activities of all of the support

Experience/Education Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or Finance
5-7 years of experience in general management overseeing all
operations of furnishings dealership
In-depth knowledge of office furnishings industry
Experience in developing strategy for a business entity
Manufacturing experience is a benefit
