The Cooper Street YMCA Family Center provides services to more than 4,700
membership units with 50,000 square feet of program space. The staff
includes 9 full-time and 224 part-time staff. The Cooper Street YMCA Family
Center is the flagship operationfor the Arlington Association and includes:
Workout facilities, full court gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, group
exercise classes, cardio and strength training, personal training, large
youth sports program, large school-age child care program, year-round swim
lessons/swim team, day camp, summer sports and specialty camps, teen
programs, father/child program, kids zone, active older adult programs,
CPR/First Aid classes, and facility rentals.

The Executive Director, reporting directly to the President and CEO, has
primary responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Cooper Street
YMCA Family Center. Experience in the areas of staff supervision,
membership and program development, fiscal management, fundraising,
volunteer cultivation and community involvement are required. Budget
accountability for this family center is $3.7M with an annual scholarship
campaign of $80,000. The Cooper Street YMCA Family Center is an integral
part of the community, providing a wide range of programs and services to a
diverse population. The Executive Director will have the skills and
experiences necessary to establish a culture of quality and service in an
effort to meet and exceed the goals and objectives set forth in the
strategic plan. The successful candidate will model the behavioral values
established by the Association and will have a passion and enthusiasm for
the mission of the Y.


Directs and administers total family center operations
Manages and prepares operational budget, recommends adjustments exercising
necessary controls to ensure operations are consistent and goals are met
with success
Establishes and maintains appropriate working relationships with staff and
volunteers, community leaders and organizations
Leads the process of long range vision and plans for the continued success
of the family center to include membership retention strategies, new
program development, expansion opportunities, and partnerships in the
Works collectively with staff to plan and provide a variety of programs to
members which maximizes available facilities
Recruits, trains, coaches, supervises and evaluates staff
Works collectively with Association leadership to organize and conduct
annual support campaign efforts
Works with Board of Directors and other volunteer committees
Develops and maintains contacts in the community with political, business,
and civic leaders to educate and inform the YMCA mission
Preferred Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in management/business administration or equivalent
YMCA Multi-Team or Organizational Leader certification preferred
Three+ years of executive management experience preferred
Fiscal management; staff management and development; and volunteer
Strong membership and program development experience
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve results
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proven record of successful operation management

Salary: $70,000 - $78,000

100% Health Insurance for the individual, 10% Retirement paid by the
employer (changing to 12% January, 2015), Life Insurance, generous vacation
plan, YMCA Membership and Programs including Child Care.
