Custom Steel Fabricator Seeking Working Lead
for Metal Fabrication Department

Well established North Dallas custom steel fabricator is seeking an
individual to fill a working supervisor position in Metal Fabrication

The hours are Mon-Fri 6:30 AM-3:00 PM. Pay D.O.E.

Job Description:
Please note this is a WORKING lead position. Successful candidate will be
responsible for
* Overseeing 5-10 employee job assignments.
* Successful and timely completion of jobs.
* Tracking parts for production as well as communicating with other
department supervisors to coordinate effective and efficient work flow.
* Quality control of finished products as well as efficient use of time,
man power and equipment.
* Oversee routine maintenance of equipment.
* Report job status to Production Manager at daily production meeting.
* Be able to deal with personnel issues. Must possess good people skills.
* Work with management on the implementation of new processes as a part of
the company's continuing improvement program.
The successful candidate must possess excellent mechanical and leadership
skills. This is a fast paced, continually changing environment and
candidates must be able to adapt and keep up while maintaining a high
degree of quality and be able to foster a team environment through example.
Candidates must possess 5 years minimum of metal fabrication experience.
Must be familiar with shears, brake presses, punches, captive hardware
insertion, drills and manual mills. Should be able to set-up and operate,
preferably all of this equipment but at least one type at an expert level.
Candidates must possess a high degree of character and leadership qualities
coupled with an earnest desire to learn how to use equipment to a high
degree of skill as well as the technical understanding of the equipment and
processes necessary to achieve the highest quality product possible.
Must be able to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
Must be able to read blue prints/mechanical prints
Must be able to pass core competency test that will be administered at the
time of your interview. Testing can take up to 1.5 hours. This test
includes tape measure reading, dial caliper reading, mechanical print
reading and basic math portions.
Must possess excellent time management skills
Great attention to detail required.
Must be able to do heavy lifting at times.
Must be available for overtime when necessary.
Must speak, comprehend, read and write English in a conversational manner.
