Internal Communications Manager


Job Title:

Responsible for developing and implementing a global internal
communications strategy. Provides regular internal communications through
the company intranet and other channels. Identifies topics for
communication, and encourages and facilitates that communication to improve
information flow throughout the company. Responsible for the maintenance
and development of the company's intranet. Works closely with Human
Resources and the Executive Team on enhancing communication and employee
engagement. Assists in managing change through delivery of key messages
and assessing the impact of communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
Develop and implement global internal communications strategy to build
employee engagement and increase alignment and execution of the
organization's strategic priorities
Delivers regular communications for all staff through a range of channels,
ensuring ease of access to communications, clarity and consistency of
Collaborate and engage with company leadership to understand business
objectives and deliver appropriate internal communication content
Devise and deliver accurate, timely, creative, and engaging communications
that have a positive impact on the flow of information through the
Lead redesign and redevelopment of SPE's intranet (SPEnet), enhancing its
utility to staff, and encouraging staff usage and engagement
Works with managers and team leaders globally to identify appropriate
communications to keep staff informed, and helps to educate those leaders
about when and how best to communicate for effectiveness
Develops feedback channels throughout the organization to gauge the
effectiveness of different approaches and channels of communication
Identifies and reports measures of communication effectiveness and
Increase usage of video, gamification, and other engagement tools for
internal communications
Support senior leadership visibility in internal communications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field
with 5-7 year's experience

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and online
communications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Understanding of statistical
concepts and their application in data analysis.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid
conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical
instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract
and concrete variables. Able to analyze complex data sets to gain insight
from them, then present findings effectively in graphical form to allow
ease of understanding.

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sensitivity to global cultures and relationships

Strong project management skills
Knowledge of digital media
Experience with gamification desirable
Moderately to highly tech-savvy
Ability to interact with and provide relevant input to senior executives
High degree of problem solving skills and independent thinking
Experience implementing an intranet desirable
Experience supporting cultural change efforts highly desired
Knowledge of the oil and gas industry a plus
