Key Account Sales Manager

Our client is an arts and crafts consumer products related company that
sells to the mass and specialty retail chain stores located throughout the
United States. We are conducting a search for a Key Account Sales Manager
that will report directly to their Vice President of Sales. This person
will be actively engaged with a select portfolio of existing accounts as
well as introducing the company's products to a broader portfolio of
underdeveloped and/or opportunistic accounts.
This position requires development of collaborative relationships and
on-going dialogue with internal departments including Business Development,
Marketing, Design, and various supply chain functions to effectively
communicate customers needs, while coordinating all activities to deliver
projects and products on time.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Develops action plans that support the company's overall business
objectives.
Prepare product line and SKU recommendations that ensure delivery of the
sales goals, while building the company's presence at retail.
Develop and implement promotional proposals that secure incremental
merchandising and favorable consideration from key accounts.
Work with accounts' marketing, internet and/or social media teams to plan
and implement integrated promotional programs.
Provide clear and concise direction and guidance to internal support teams
to accomplish the company's and accounts joint interests, then follow-up
accordingly to ensure proper implementation. Also provide accurate monthly
sales forecasting guidance.
Act as liaison between accounts and company departments on all matters
relating to order fulfillment, billing and payables.
Manage all aspects of day-to-day business with key accounts and provide
weekly status reports to Senior Management.
Collaborate with Vice President of Sales and others to develop
presentations to key accounts in support of annual planning, periodic
business review and other meetings.
Monitor and analyze company's performance with an emphasis on product line
trends and productivity, planogram changes, share-of-shelf, pricing,
promotional support and in-store merchandising activity.
Track, analyze, and report on competitive activity as well as that of
leading retailers, including planograms and in-store merchandising, retail
pricing and promotion, advertising, web-site communication, Facebook
presence, and more.

Key qualifications for this position include:

BA or BS degree in Business or related field of study.
Three to five years of sales experience and knowledge of the arts and
crafts industry is a plus.
Passion for building sales with existing accounts and for identifying leads
that can add new accounts.
Strength in developing solid relationships with buyers, merchandisers, and
other lead personnel within key accounts.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical and excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects on a timely
basis and work in a fast-paces environment.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
