Materials Management Buyer

Baylor Surgical Hospital at Las Colinas is currently seeking a Materials
Management Buyer
for Full-time opportunities. This individual must have excellent
communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to perform
work that requires a high degree of accuracy. This individual must also
have the ability to work and react quickly, multi task, and be a great team
member. Other duties and responsibility include:
Collaborates with various departments to ensure supplies and equipment are
available for all surgical procedures and patient care needs.
Receives and processes order requisitions for all departments.
Generates and places purchase orders with vendors for all medical supplies
and equipment.
Determine appropriate stock levels for various items.
Assists in receiving and delivering supplies daily to hospital departments.
Maintains contact with vendors to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
Contacts vendor sales representatives concerning any special needs (ie:
backorders, shortages, overages, substitution items).
Processes order returns to vendors.
Works closely with the internal accounting department personnel to resolve
invoice discrepancies.
Assists with inventory control and cost savings projects.
Assists in routine safety checks of medical equipment and coordinate for
repairs as needed with Biomedical Engineering.

Job Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Two years minimum purchasing/procurement experience in a health care
environment preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and supplies/vendors.
Have the ability to prepare and keep records.
