Vice President, Sales & Marketing--Consumer Products Distribution

Founded over 30 years ago our client is the leading national consumer goods
distributor selling through a B2B network of large, independent and
e-tailers alike. Orders are fulfilled the same day and offer a diverse
product line from notable suppliers. Today the company is vibrant with
>100,000 sq' of local warehouse space. They're situated in a great Midwest
community (not in Dallas) with superior quality of life, lower-than-average

Reporting to the President, the company is seeking a new VP, Sales &
Marketing overseeing inside and outside Sales groups and Marketing. Primary
objectives are: driving sales & revenue, developing both internal and
external business relationships, managing the inside and field sales
organization and maintaining a dominant market position. This individual
should provide hands-on leadership in developing a team of professional
sales representatives and leading the execution of the company's strategic
plan for sales and marketing growth initiatives.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
1. Achieving sales objectives:
· Establish and communicate sales objectives
· Development of sales opportunities resulting in company/customer
win-win situations
· Provide training, support and mentoring where needed to achieve
sales objectives
· Acts as the conduit between Marketing & Sales to develop and
capitalize on sales leads
· Attains sales goals while maintaining high customer satisfaction
ratings
· Attend industry events, monitor competitor activities with the
intent of maintaining industry leadership
2. Maintaining profitability:
· Monitor budgets and expense controls
· Monitor incentive plans for effectiveness and motivation
3. Builds/Maintains relationships with key customers:
· Facilitate strong business relationships with key accounts
· Attend events supported by customers
4. Staff Management & Development:
· Monitor and appraise job performance of Directors, Marketing and
Sales personnel
· Training & Development of field sales force - develop sales
leaders and managers, mentor, lead by example.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
· Post secondary undergraduate diploma/degree in business or
equivalent
· Leadership success, rising above Director level responsibilities
· Experience in consumer goods distribution where speed and accuracy
are of the essence
· Ability to develop and execute sales and management programs and
policies
· Excellent planning, organization, time management skills
· Strong written and verbal skills; able to produce quality work in
a timely manner
· Advanced User of Microsoft Office
· Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
· Ability to travel extensively
