Data Center Engineer
Wheelhouse Resource Partners is currently looking for two (2) experienced
Data Center Engineers for a direct hire opportunity in the Richardson area.
Summary: Our client, a super-regional provider of colocation and managed
hosting solutions, has an opportunity for two experienced Engineers to
support their new data center in Richardson. The Data Center Engineer will
be responsible for participating in the construction, engineering and
maintenance of mission critical data center facilities. This is a rapidly
growing organization, with innovative solutions and exceptional customer
service to clients that has set them apart from their competition.
Monitors the buildings HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems.
Performs preventive maintenance, site surveys, replacement of electrical
and mechanical equipment.
Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans
and other technical documents.
Performs operation, installation and servicing of peripheral devices.
Assists with equipment start-ups, repairs and overhauls.
Prepares reports on facility performance.
Oversees vendor facility maintenance.
Perform emergency equipment repair.
Supports market data centers.
24x7 facility on-call responsibility.
Strong electrical experience required
Associates degree in facilities related field or equivalent experience
Experience working with building management systems.
Licensed, or qualified for licensing in the HVAC or Electrical fields at
the journeyman level.
Knowledge of construction, HVAC, AC and DC power fundamentals.
Ability to analyze and identify issues negatively impacting facility
Strong troubleshooting / decision making skills required.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to work evening shift and provide on-call availability
Knowledge of data center critical infrastructure components preferred
