Manufacturing Engineer

Plano based manufacturing firm specializing in aerospace factory
automation, including the design, fabrication, installation, and
maintenance of turnkey aircraft assembly automation systems, has an
immediate need for a motivated and versatile Manufacturing Engineer. This
position is at our new facility located in Grand Prairie where we are
manufacturing aerospace components/assemblies, and fabricating tooling and
coordinating tooling support.

The applicant will review customer requests for quote, interpret
engineering data, estimate labor and materials in support of proposals,
execute and support customer purchase orders from receipt through
manufacturing and delivery. You will work with manufacturing teams to
establish budgets and schedules, support performance tracking and
post-project cost analysis, and create a database to support future costing
exercises.
Basic Qualifications:

* Minimum of five years experience in aerospace component manufacturing
(preferably metals)
* Project Management
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
(2D & 3D engineering data)

Additional Qualifications:

* Proven success working in a similar role in a custom manufacturing
environment
* Experience with large turn-key proposals that include fabrication,
welding, machining and assembly.
* ERP systems experience preferred
* Post-secondary education in Industrial Engineering and/or Cost Estimation
or equivalent
* Expertise in the use of Microsoft operating system
* Demonstrated analytic ability, strong reasoning and logic in approach to
and performance of work
* Solid understanding of manufacturing drawings
* Ability to generate presentations, reports and cost analyses; ability to
re-calculate estimates quickly and efficiently, as needed
* Exceptional interpersonal skills required to communicate and negotiate
effectively and to obtain buy-in as required
* Ability to determine manufacturing feasibility, identify potential
fabrication problems
* Establish labor cost targets on shop/lab activities as requested
