Mechanical Engineering Manager (Arlington)
The Mechanical Engineering Manager shall:
Serve as the Technical Manager for the Mechanical Engineering Team.
Manage customer specific projects and product development for robot centric
applications which focus on: end of arm tooling, custom mechanisms, and
peripheral devices for automation. Collaborate with the other engineering
leaders in controls and software to develop the optimal solution to meet
customer's business needs.
Set goals, assign tasks, and manage successful performance of team members
based on availability, skill set, and team dynamics.
Mobilize the teams to execute projects within defined scope and resource
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical
Make suggestions to optimize performance across projects.
Make recommendations and refinements to engineering team job descriptions,
competency models and pay scales. Implement performance reviews for direct
and indirect reports.
Define and approve staffing, expenses reports, and vacation time to insure
within budget. .
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the following:
Sales and Applications (in the pre-sales quotation process), Support
Services( in the post-delivery support product life-cycle), and overall
customer experience by anticipating and preventing issues before they
become customer concerns.
Quality Improvement /Technology Development:
Recommend and direct the implementation of improved processes, best
practices, tools and standard designs to improve quality.
Plan and executes six-sigma, lean and continuous improvement projects.
Assesses new technology to meet project requirements
Report on performance of strategic third party suppliers.
Execute innovative programs to meet industry demand.
Recommend and enforces design and engineering procedures and standard
practices to comply with industry specific regulatory requirements or
intra-company operational performance objectives.
A post-secondary technology diploma, or technical degree or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of complete
mechanical systems for industrial automation projects. Proven leadership
qualities including; good oral and written communication skills, ability to
work with and motivate team members, and a willingness to take
responsibility for key aspects needed for job completion.
