Position Description Summary:
Oversee the activity of the Planning work group and is responsible for
their safety, training, assignments, equipment needs and overall
performance in relation to planning and coordinating of all outbound
shipments and inbound receipts.

Principal Accountabilities
(The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work
being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
* Oversee planning and scheduling of customer and interplant
* Assure scheduling of all inbound shipments to minimize product
flow within the Iowa City Distribution Network
* Investigate site caused cuts and the processing of PCN's for and
OSB/OMS discrepancies
* Assure that AutoScheduler is ran daily to ensure that all
finished product required for outbound shipments is within the correct Iowa
City Warehouse for the shipment
* Research all additional charges form carriers for validation
prior to payment approval
* Management of short brands to ensure that all appropriate cuts
and subs are communicated to Operations
* Assist Operations in assigning trailers to outbound loads
* Work with carriers to make sure all necessary equipment is on
site prior to the outbound shipment
* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within
constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
* Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person,
on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and
* Other duties as assigned

Working Environment:
Assignment Complexity - Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis
of situation or data requires review of identifiable factors. Exercise
judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate
action. Act as advisor to unit or sub-units, become actively involved as
required to meet schedules or resolve problems.
Accountability - Provide immediate supervision or assign tasks to a unit or
group of employees. May provide general or direct supervision to skilled
nonexempt employees. A portion of time may be spent performing individual
Impact of Decisions - Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results
will cause delays in schedules.
Working Relationships - Frequently interact with subordinates, outside
customers, and/or functional peer groups at various management levels.
Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others,
conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific
projects/schedules, etc.
Scope - Receive assignments in form of objectives with goals and process to
meet goals outlined. Provide guidance to employees according to established
policies and management guidance. Work is reviewed by management to measure
achievement of objectives. Administer company policies that directly affect
subordinate employees.

Essential Functions:
Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or
company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol

Knowledge and Skills(The following minimum requirements are normal
guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified

This is a supervisory position. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. Generally prefer 1-3
years of related supervisory experience.
