Information Security Architect

Title: Information Security Architect (with SQL)
Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
Type: Fulltime

The candidate will need sound experience establishing, implementing and enforcing security policy for SQL DB technology.  Of particular focus are the candidate’s ability to evaluate and understand encryption tools and methodologies both native to Microsoft and through 3rd party vendors as well as establishing tools for auditing guidelines and proper audit log retention.  The candidate needs to also have a strong SQL DBA background and sound understanding for how to effectively secure data-at-rest, data-in-transit, public/private keys and backups inline with those cyber security policies.
Technical/Functional Skills
  • 5+ years’ experience with SQL Server RDBMS to include SQL Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012 and 1+ year supporting SQL 2014, SQL 2016
  • 3+ years supporting MySQL 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, Windows/Linux/Unix OS experience
  • 1-3+ years hands on experience with Always On, Clustering, Replication in a production environment, with direct experience in installation, setup, modification and troubleshooting
  • 1+ year installing, automating, scaling and supporting noSQL databases such as Couchbase, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop, among other technologies.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Knowledge and experience with relational DBMS concepts, design, architecture, operations and systems.
  • Experience to include, installation, performance tuning, database monitoring, database backup/recovery, capacity management, high availability and replication.
  • Experience recommending and implementing security protocol standards including auditing, log retention, transparent data encryption, public / private key management.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize with little to no supervision, providing team leadership skills.
  • Ability to recommend strategy for data at rest, in transit and data stored / retained.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly driven, highly involved, highly proactive
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
