As a Senior Information Analyst, the ideal candidate will have worked with Data Engineering team members to analyze data for solutions that include not only the code that services business functionality but the underlying infrastructure required to run that code and the systems required to deploy it. The candidate will also possess technical skills and experience in the virtual infrastructure domain in particular Amazon Web Services and have knowledge and experience with continuous delivery systems.
The CB - a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to providing excellence and equity in education - manages a complex and comprehensive suite of data systems, data feeds and reports to support students and educators across multiple assessments, programs and services. Working within the Information Technology division and across Operations and key business units, the Senior Information Analyst will analyze procedures, data, and design solutions to attain high data quality and process automation.
The Senior Information Analyst must have excellent written and oral communication skills, communicate and engage with the business units to develop a strong understanding of their reporting, data and product needs, and be adaptive to the changing needs of the organization. The Sr. Information Analyst must have experience with defining the requirements for a project, identify data dependencies and/or relationships to understand data flow and usage, and write specifications for managing Enterprise information. Specifications may include business rules, source to target mappings, and design specifications. The Senior Analyst must also be able to work with architects, engineers and DBAs to ensure that the business and technical requirements are being met through the delivery process.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Enterprise Data and influence the design and implementation of solutions, based on a set of standards and processes which establish consistency across the enterprise data, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies in support of the organization's goals and objectives.
Demonstrate a strong attention to detail, high degree of initiative, and excellent documentation and communication skills
Develop and participate in the review of requirements, data mappings, and other artifacts and clearly communicate to both the business and technical team members the system requirements. Demonstrate the ability to define, analyze and translate functional and non-functional business requirements into source to target mappings and supplemental specifications.
Working knowledge of strong and evolving competence in several programming languages and technologies (especially in Java), working knowledge of multiple tools sets, technologies and implementation environments
Understanding of database modeling and technical design, database builds, and stored procedures.
Expertise in understanding and writing SQL scripts
Actively review their own and the team's work processes and implements improvements seen from other teams or in industry to drive continuous improvement of the team's efficiency, speed, and quality.
