JOB DUTIES:
The Security Incident Manager role is a client-facing position and is responsible for the daily supervision and management of the day-to-day operations of large collection of security network devices.
These devices are managed by Verizon on behalf of our client, and Verizon maintains full management and administration responsibilities for their operation and function.
The Security Incident Manager will be responsible for ensuring any incident event or change request involving any device within the network security infrastructure is properly and aggressively managed and/or performed.
The Security Incident Manager will be expected to provide daily status reports to both Verizon and client IT senior management, and will assume responsibility to address any issues with Verizon's managed performance that may arise.
The Security Incident Manager is also expected to assume supervisory ownership of any high criticality incident that may arise, requiring the individual to lead real-time incident remediation efforts with Verizon, client and vendor IT personnel and to see the response through to the restoration of service.
 
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
- 5+ years of prior experience in the physical installation, configuration and maintenance / management of network routing, switching and network security devices.
- 5+ years prior experience in managing and administering network and security equipment in an enterprise-sized IT infrastructure
- 3+ years in network administration within a mature change management methodology
- 1+ years in a customer facing role of administering client network infrastructure
 
DESIRED SKILLS:
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and/or experiences :
- 7+ years of prior experience in the physical installation, configuration and maintenance / management of network routing, switching and network security devices.
- 7+ years prior experience in managing and administering network and security equipment in an enterprise-sized IT infrastructure
- 5+ years in network administration within a mature change management methodology
- 3+ years in a customer facing role of administering client network infrastructure
 
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
- College degree
- network or security device administration certifications preferred
 
REQUIRED SHIFT:
This position is expected to work U.S., west coast business hours. There is also an expectation of participation in an on-call rotation for after hours and weekend support to high criticality events.
